10 September 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver has made a final call to the Filipino community in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and Northwest Territories to register for overseas voting, which will end on October 31.

Philippine Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer made this announcement during an interview made by The Filipino Channel (TFC) at the Philippine Consulate General last September 02. The interview aims to encourage overseas Filipinos to register and become eligible to vote in
the Philippine national elections next year.

According to Consul General Ferrer, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver has already surpassed its target number of registrants. As of August this year, the Consulate has already registered more than 17,000 applicants, more than double its original target of 8,000 new registrants for overseas voting.

He mentioned that all qualified Filipinos are welcome to register for overseas voting at the Consulate General or during consular outreach missions. In addition, the Consulate General also conducts ship visits under its Akyat-Barko program. END
