23 September 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Meynardo LB. Montealegre attended the welcoming ceremony for the 11th batch of the Brunei contingent to the International Monitoring Team (IMT) held on September 04 at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba.
The contingent returned to Brunei Darussalam after successfully completing a 12-month tour-of-duty in Mindanao.
The ceremony, which was led by Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Seri Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah, was also attended by members of the Defense Executive Committee (DEC), Acting Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Services Commanders and Commandants, directors, senior officers and officers of Ministry of Defense and RBAF, as well as family members.
The team who left Brunei Darussalam on 05 September 2014 was composed of Lt. Col. Haji Huzaimi bin Pehin Datu Harimau Padang Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Husin, as team leader; Major Pengiran Muhd Mujib bin Pengiran Haji Umar Ariffin; Major Mohd Azmi bin Mohd Taib; Captain Mohd Asmafahmi Hazmin bin Haji Mohd Sultan; Captain Abdul Aziz bin Haji Razali; Assistant Superintendent Haji Mohd Termizi bin Dr Haji MohdYusof; WO1 Supian bin Suhaili; WO2 Saiful Bahri bin Haji Latif; and WO2 Pengiran Hasmin bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman.
Brunei Darussalam deployed its first IMT team in October 2004. Since then, Brunei has been actively engaged in the mission with its annual deployment of military as well as medical personnel to assist in day-to-day operations. END
