28 September 2015 - The Philippine Embassy on Wings based in Dhaka completed its consular outreach missions programmed this year as a three-member team from the Embassy travelled to Maldives and Sri Lanka from September 10 to 14.
With the full support of Philippine Honorary Consuls Abdulla Salih of Male in Maldives and Hugh Sriyal Dissanayake of Colombo in Sri Lanka and their respective staff, the Embassy on Wings team composed of Ms. Joan Q. Jose, Ms. Marife Soriano-Guba and Ms. Raquel P. de Austria was able to deliver a successful turnout of consular services in both countries. A total of 59 passport applications were processed and seven passport extensions were issued at the consular mission in Maldives while a total of 43 and two, respectively, were accomplished in Colombo.
Aiming to reach out for as much public services to be delivered as possible, the Embassy had the team also provide services for overseas voters (OV) registration for the Philippine Presidential Elections in May 2016. A total of 114 OV registrants were processed during the trip. Filipino communities in the areas were reminded of the deadline for OV registration on October 31. END
