28 September 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, in cooperation with ABS-CBN Australia, participated in the TFC One Kapamilya Go event held at the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre in Rosehill, New South Wales, Australia, on September 20 with an information booth and the conduct of mobile overseas voters (OV) registration as part of the Consulate’s efforts to encourage eligiblemembers of the Filipino community to register as overseas voters and to participate in the upcoming Philippine national elections in May 2016.

The Consulate team attended to around 100 clients during the whole-day event, registering eligible overseas voters and responding to questions about reacquisition of Philippine citizenship, renewal of passports, civil registry, notarization, NBI clearance and other matters.

The event featured ABS-CBN artists, performances by local Filipino talents, and a singing competition featuring Filipino youth contestants. Filipino cuisine was showcased through several booths offering traditional Filipino fare and delicacies. The other booths at the event included those of Philippine Airlines (PAL), remittance companies and cargo forwarders, property developers, local colleges, and several Philippine products.

Philippine Consul General to Sydney Anne Jalando-on Louis congratulated Mr. Jay Santos, ABS-CBN Country Manager for Australia, on the holding of a bigger TFC One Kapamilya Go Event this year and also thanked him for partnering with the Consulate for the second year in bringing consular services and the Overseas Voting program to the Filipino community in New South Wales through the TFC event.
