14 October 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Austria Maria Zeneida Angara-Collinson presented her Letters of Credence to Slovak President Andrej Kiska on October 12 at the Grassalkovich Palace, seat of the Office of the Slovak President, in Bratislava. Ambassador Angara-Collinson was joined by seven other non-resident ambassadors to the Slovak Republic for the ceremony. She was also joined by Third Secretary Juan Carlos C. Borromeo.

During the President’s meeting with the newly-accredited Ambassadors, Ambassador Angara-Collinson briefed the President on the impressive performance of the Philippine economy and the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community, two events which serve as a platform for further strengthening economic relations with the Slovak Republic. Ambassador Angara-Collinson also extended an invitation to President Kiska to visit the Philippines soon.

President Kiska noted that the Philippines’ impressive economic performance and looked forward to further cooperation, especially in the economic arena.

Ambassador Angara-Collinson is the eighth Philippine Ambassador to the Slovak Republic since diplomatic relations were established in 1993. END
