14 October 2015 - Five young Filipino musicians were selected by Japan Foundation Asia Center to participate in the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) ASEAN Tour 2015, with scheduled performances in Jakarta and Yogyakarta in Indonesia; Singapore; Manila, Philippines; Bangkok, Thailand; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Orchestra is composed of 28 young and talented musicians selected through auditions last February 2015 and conducted in different schools in Southeast Asian countries. Other successful musicians selected came from Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
AYJO is a jazz orchestra project of the Japan Foundation Asia Center designed to train emerging talented young musicians through international exchanges and collaborations and to showcase their talents on international stage performances.
