14 October 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai; Aviareps, the DOT Marketing Office for the GCC based in Dubai; and a delegation from the DOT led by Director Verna Esmeralda Buensuceso, Officer in Charge of the Market Development Group led the maiden Philippine participation to the 2015 edition of the International Medical Travel Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC) at the Dubai World Trade Center.

The two-day IMTEC event was preceded by a special launching event hosted by DOT on October 06 at Shangri-la Hotel, which was attended by representatives from The Medical City, St. Luke's Medical Center, Aviareps, Dubai and Sharjah-based travel agency representatives and Filipino consolidators of medical tourism packages.

Based on the IMTEC website, it is the only medical travel event which features 100 exhibitors (hospital groups, medical travel organizations, and health services companies) and attracts an estimated 2,200 professionals per edition. END
