15 October 2015 – A team from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) conducted a two-day orientation seminar on PhilHealth membership and benefits for overseas members on October 09 at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and on October 10 at the Pinoy Resto in Khalidiya, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Israel Francis A. Pargas, OIC Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Spokesperson of PhilHealth, conducted the seminar and responded to queries from the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by Mr. Michael N. Tomas of PhilHealth’s Overseas Filipino Program (OFP), who facilitated the delivery of services such as issuance of PIN, PIN card and Member Data Record (MDR), and amendment of personal data.
Dr. Pargas said that overseas Filipinos can now apply or update their PhilHealth membership online through the PhilHealth website. Remittances of the PhilHealth membership can be made through 25 accredited foreign exchange centers across the UAE. Prior to the conduct of the seminar, the PhilHealth teams for Abu Dhabi and Dubai met with Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Grace Relucio-Princesa and Labor Attaché Atty. Ophelia N. Almenario at the Embassy. Leaders and members of the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi, as well as personnel of the Embassy, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Pag-IBIG and Social Security System (SSS), attended the seminar.
