16 October 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. visited Monterrey, Nuevo Leon from September 26 to 28 accompanied by Finance Officer Randy Hilot.

On September 26, Ambassador Dilem met with Mr. Luis Felipe Quiros Sada, Public Relations Officer of Formento Económico Mexicano SAB de CV (FEMSA), together with Philippine Consul, a.h. to Monterrey Ing. Francisco Eduardo Cue at Founders Building (Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc) in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Coca-Cola FEMSA is one of the largest Mexican company investors in the Philippines.

Mr. Quiros narrated the history of the company and discussed the current operations in the Philippines as well as their corporate obligations. Ambassador Dilem informed him about the economic and cultural programs of the Embassy to which Mr. Quiros assured FEMSA’s cooperation in these activities.

Ambassador Dilem and Consul Cue also met with Chairman Rogelio Zambrano of CEMEX together with Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs Mauricio Doehner, Director for Corporate Affairs Lic. Juan Pablo Garcia, and Chief Risk Officer Enrique Alanis on September 28 at the CEMEX Office in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo Leon.

Mr. Doenhner discussed the current operation and investment of CEMEX in the Philippines and the company’s expansion projects. Ambassador Dilem briefed them on current development in the Philippines, particularly on the consistent economic growth of the country and the government´s drive to attract foreign investors.

Then, a consular outreach and overseas voters registration was conducted on September 27 for the members of the Filipino community based in Nuevo Leon who are mostly working in electronic companies. They expressed their appreciation in the extension of services in their area for they can now exercise their right to vote even when they are away from the Philippines. END
