In his message, Consul General Flores commended FAX for the annual charity event that demonstrates the Filipinos’ core values of caring and sharing, particularly taking care of and paying respects to their elders. The activity contributes to the collective efforts to strengthen people-to-people contacts and thereby strengthen friendship and understanding between Fujian and the Philippines.

Mr. Cao Yong Jiu, the nursing home’s administrator, expressed appreciation for the initiative of the Filipinos to show their compassion and generosity to the elderly even for a day. The hospice attends to indigent elderlies who are already in their 80’s and 90’s, some suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s Syndrome and other degenerative illnesses. END
