19 October 2015 - A seminar on Philippine civil registration for the Filipino community was held at the Philippine Consulate General in Milan on October 14 conducted by Deputy National Statistician Estella T. de Guzman and Assistant National Statistician Lourdes J. Hufana of the Philippine Statistics Authority. This is in connection with Presidential Proclamation No. 1106 Declaring the Years 2015 to 2024 as Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade.

The seminar aimed to educate overseas Filipinos on the importance of civil registration in the lives of all Filipinos, whether living in the Philippines or abroad.

The speakers discussed the uses and importance of registering vital life events, among other topics and issues pertaining to civil registry.

The seminar concluded with an open forum where attendees had the opportunity to ask the resource speakers regarding specific questions and issues. END
