20 October 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou conducted a consular outreach on October 10 at Shekou, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. The consular outreach was organized in coordination with the Shenzhen-based Filipino community organization, Barangay China, Shenzhen.

During the consular outreach, 47 Filipinos registered for overseas voting.

In addition, around 80 Filipinos also applied for passport renewals and other services such as NBI clearances.

In her remarks, Philippine Consul General Marie Charlotte G. Tang briefed the community on the Consulate General’s programs. She also reminded the community to observe China’s laws and regulations, including its immigration regulations. She likewise requested the community to remind fellow Filipinos to be alert on the modus operandi of drug syndicates and not to be victimized by these.

The outreach was the second conducted in the year for Filipinos working and residing in Shekou, Futian, Nanshan and nearby districts. END
