21 October 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates conducted an overseas voters field registration at the St. Francis Church in Jebel Ali on October 16. A total of 184 Filipinos registered during the four hour period. In addition, the Philippine Consulate General opened its offices on October 16 and 17 registering 301 Filipinos, or a total of 484 registrants for the weekend.
Earlier this month, the Consulate General announced that it would be open all weekends of October 2015 to accommodate the surge in overseas voters registration. At the 365 Restaurant in Satwa on October 11, 238 Filipinos registered as overseas voters. Some 327 Filipinos registered at the Consulate General from October 10 to 11, bringing the total of registrants for that weekend to 565. So far 1,049 registered during the two weekends.
The Consulate General urged its kababayans to use the “irehistro” system by simply logging on to “irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/ov” a day before coming to the Philippine Consulate General for registration and filling in the details before printing the same.
The Consulate General will hold overseas voters registration everyday until October 31 from Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. END
