21 October 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to Poland Patricia Ann V. Paez had a preliminary meeting last October 01 with some Polish entrepreneurs who are interested in doing business with the Philippines. The meeting was arranged by the president of the Polish Society of the Phliippines Mr. Josef Zarach.
Ambassador Paez gave an overview of the dynamism of the Philippine economy citing its 6.2% GDP growth in 2014, the investment grade status from international credit rating agencies, and the increase in car sales by 27% in 2014. She also informed them about the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives in the Philippines’ Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
The Ambassador emphasized that this is the time for them to set up their businesses in the Philippines since the ASEAN will be a single market this December which means that from the Philippines, they can export their products to and penetrate the markets of the nine other members of the ASEAN, duty-free. She added that if they locate in the SEZs, they can sell 30% of their products to the Philippine domestic market.
Ambassador Paez will have further talks with the Polish entrepreneurs who already expressed interest in visiting the Philippines. END
