21 October 2015 – As part of the Philippine Embassy in Argentina’s mission to reach out to the Filipinos within its jurisdiction, Philippine non-resident Ambassador to Paraguay Ma. Amelita C. Aquino visited on October 16 the 64 Filipinos working at Astillero Tsuneishi Paraguay S.A., a Japanese shipyard located between the riverside towns of Villeta and Villa Alberdi, 1.5 hours from Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.

Tsuneishi Paraguay is a member of the Tsuneishi Group, which is involved in shipbuilding, shipping and agriculture and livestock farming. The Filipino workers are from the company’s shipyard in Cebu, the Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu) Inc., the main production site of Tsuneishi for shipbuilding.

Officials of the company praised the Filipino workers, citing their skills, work ethic and knowledge of the English language and adaptability. END
