21 October 2015 - Dr. Patricia Licuanan, Chairperson of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) paid a courtesy call on her Singaporean counterpart Acting Minister for Education (in charge of Higher Education and Skills) Mr. Ong Ye Kung at the sidelines of the OECD-Singapore Higher Education Futures Conference, held from October 14 to 15 at Resorts World Sentosa. The inaugural conference co-organized by the Singapore Ministry of Education and OECD gathers leaders and experts in academia and public policy to discuss trends and challenges in global higher education and to explore ideas to meet these challenges and leverage opportunities in higher education.

Chair Licuanan was joined by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales and members of her delegation. Permanent Secretary Neo Kian Hong and another MOE official accompanied Mr. Ong. During the call, Chair Licuanan and Acting Minister Ong exchanged views on the current state, plans and programs of higher education in their respective countries. END
