SENATOR VENICE

22 October 2015 – Philippine Senator Cynthia Villar visited the Philippine Pavilion in Venice on 19 October 2015 as part of her official travel in Italy. Senator Villar showed much interest in the film “Genghis Khan” by Manuel Conde, co-written and designed by Carlos Francisco, which was shown in the Venice Film Festival in 1952.

She also commended the multi-channel video piece, “A Dashed State” by Manny Montelibano, which captures the ways of life in an island with the sound of epic and radio frequencies passing through. She was also impressed by the installation “Shoal” by Jose Tence Ruiz, a masterpiece envisioned to refer to the Sierra Madre.

The Philippine Pavilion in Palazzo Mora will be open to the public until 22 November 2015. END
