23 October 2015 - Swedish Minister for Social Security Ms. Annika Strandhäll and Philippine Social Security System President and CEO Mr. Emilio S. de Quiros, Jr. affix their signatures on a bilateral social security agreement between the two countries. They are flanked by respective heads of the negotiating delegations, Ms. Malin Skäringer and Ms. Judy Frances A. See. 

The social security agreement, which will benefit nationals of both countries in terms of securing their respective long-term and pension benefits, guarantees equality of treatment of nationals in accessing applicable benefits; the portability of benefits when nationals of one Party reside in the other Party; the totalization of insurance periods, and the exchange of information and mutual assistance between the competent authorities.

The Agreement will have to be ratified separately by both countries and will enter into force four months after such ratifications are formally communicated.  For more information, please visit www.philembassy.no or www.sss.gov.ph. END
