28 October 2015 -The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi awarded plaques of appreciation to the current officers and members and past presidents of the Executive Committee (ExeCom) of the Bayanihan Council in a simple ceremony held on October 22 at the Philippine Embassy grounds.

Recognized were the following:  Engr. Antonio E. Morales, Chairman; Engr. Guillermo C. Del Mundo, Vice Chairman; Engr. Melchor L. Peralta, Secretary; Ms. Regina B. Drew, Treasurer; Mr. Joel M. Moredo, Auditor; Ms. Juliet Grace O. Lagrama, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Lowel P. Dalisay, Assistant Treasurer; Engr. Blesil D. Apduhan, Assistant Auditor; Ms. Evangeline M. Junio, Member; Ms. Vivien B. Napeñas, Member; Mr. Albert S. Sabado, Member; Engr. William Icaranom, Member; Mr. Alfredo A. Manangan, Member; Ms. Jennifer G. Paredes, Member; Engr. Paul Gaby L. Sabillo, Member; Engr. Ernesto L. Refugio, Chairman, 2012-2014; and Mr. Baltazar Junio, Chairman, 2010-2012.

In her remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Grace Reclusio Princesa thanked the ExeCom for their outstanding leadership, exemplary service and contributions to the Council. She expressed hope that the bayanihan spirit among the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi will live on even after she ends her tour of duty in the UAE, and that FilCom organizations will continue supporting the programs of the Embassy under the leadership of incoming Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno, Jr.

The Executive Committee is the governing body of the Bayanihan Council, the umbrella organization of all Filipino organizations and associations accredited to the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.  Envisioned by Ambassador Princesa, the Bayanihan Council was established on 14 May 2010 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  END
