29 October 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Geneva and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Geneva brought the Milan-based Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG officers to provide services to Filipinos residing in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud.
Around 100 overseas Filipinos residing in Geneva and Vaud came to the premises of the Consulate on October 25 to attend to their consular and social protection needs. Given their busy schedules for the entire week, they took the Open House as an opportunity to avail of the services provided by SSS and Pag-IBIG.
A featured service is membership consultation on Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), SSS and Pag-IBIG programs for OFWs and their families.
SSS and Pag-IBIG representatives Ms. Wilma Ortiz and Ms. Brigitte Mahor, respectively, provided membership help-desks, new enrollment and reactivation, payment, and Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) capture services. Mabuhay, the lone accredited payment collecting center in Geneva, was also present, represented by Helen Brunner. POLO Geneva processed requests for OWWA memberships.
The event is part of the Consulate General’s “PCG Ko, Bukas ng Linggo” program, which brings Philippine government services closer to Filipinos in Switzerland. END
