BEIRUT OV

29 October 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Beirut conducted mobile overseas voters (OV) registration in Tripoli, Lebanon (36th round) and in St. Francis Church (37th round), Hamra on October 18, where 29 Filipinos were newly registered. This was followed by mobile OV registration conducted in Broumana (38th round) and back in St. Francis Church, Hamra (39th round) on October 25, where 22 more Filipinos, who braved the torrential rain and flooded streets, successfully registered.

The Embassy has been exerting all efforts to make the OV registration reachable for Filipinos working in Lebanon, including those working in restaurants and supermarkets.

To date, the Embassy has successfully organized a total of 39 OV mobile registrations across the country. It is among the first Philippine Embassies and Consulates to reach their targets during this OV registration period, with the current total surpassing by about 50% the assigned target of 5,000 new registrants.
