04 November 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Junever Mahilum-West hosted a luncheon meeting for the members of the Asian Ambassadors’ Ladies in Amman (AALIA) on October 29 at her residence. AALIA is one of the diplomatic organizations in Jordan where the Philippine Embassy is an active member. It is composed of Asian lady ambassadors and spouses of Asian Ambassadors in Jordan.
The meeting was attended by the wives of Asian ambassadors in Amman which includes the spouses of the ambassadors of Afghanistan, Brunei, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and representatives from Indonesia and Thailand.
AALIA’s charity projects and possible beneficiaries were discussed during the lunch. Annually, AALIA holds a fund-raising project and donates its funds to its chosen charity organizations in Jordan. Some its charity projects are the AALIA car boot sale in 2013 and 2015, and the Asian Splendor: Nuptials and Customs in 2014. Furthermore, Mrs. Haifa Al-Bashir, president and founder of several Jordanian charity organizations and the spouse of a former Minister of Health in Jordan, introduced to the group her charity organizations for consideration of AALIA.
Delicious Philippine and Asian dishes such as chicken curry, pancit canton, fresh lumpia, adobo, and turon were served for lunch. END
