06 November 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Ankara participated in the 2nd Istanbul Coffee Festival (ICF) to promote Philippine coffee. Organized by the DSM Group, the 2nd ICF was held from October 22 to 25 in Haydarpaşa Garı, a railway station built in Istanbul in 1909.
The 2nd ICF featured 150 Turkish and international coffee exhibitors and brand contributors and welcomed 25,500 visitors. During the first day of the Coffee Festival, a team from the Philippine Embassy in Ankara met with 13 coffee importers who showed interest in learning more about Philippine coffee. The Embassy also provided samples of the Echo Store's Women in Coffee Brand which sourced its coffees from small communities in the Philippines with the assistance of the Philippine Coffee Board Inc. (PCBI) and the International Women's Coffee Alliance-Philippine chapter (IWCA).
Aside from coffee samples, the Embassy also distributed “Invest in the Philippines” materials to some of the participants. END
