LISBON 1

06 November 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Lisbon conducted a Leadership and Empowerment Seminar at the Chancery in Lisbon, Portugal last October 25.

The Seminar was organized, conducted, and led by the Embassy in coordination with the Filipino community. It was upon the request of  Filipino Community Association in Portugal President Lani C. Yu to convene a lecture and group discussions to enable the officers of the association to gain deeper knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of each and everyone´s role and build capacity and confidence in their ability to plan, organize and manage initiatives and projects for the welfare and benefit of the Filipino commuinty. It may be noted that females make up 60 per cent of the Filipino community in Portugal.

The Embassy undertook this activity in recognition of the importance of the role of the Association and its leadership in enhancing the Embassy’s relationship with the Filipino community members.

Professor Jose Ma. Ybanez Tomacruz of the Ateneo De Davao University served as the resource speaker for the Seminar. END
