HAGUE PALAWAN

06 November 2015 - The Palawan State University (PSU) Singers held its first concert in the Netherlands, in cooperation with the United Filipino Dutch Association (UFDA) in Hoofddorp, on September 04 at Pier K in Hoofddorp.

Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda graced the concert along with the officers and staff of the Embassy in a show of support.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ledda welcomed and thanked all the people who came to watch the performance of PSU despite the wet and breezy weather. He also thanked and acknowledged all the sponsors and host families for the generosity and warm hospitality given to the PSU Singers.

The PSU Singers is on its First European Tour which began in early July and extends up to September.  Aside from the Netherlands, PSU also performed in various cities in Germany, Spain and France.

The PSU Singers had a successful performance at the Festival de Musica de Cantonigros in Spain held last July 16 to 19 where it was declared the grand champion.

The PSU Singers was founded in 2012 by Mr. Remy R. Dizon with the aim of nurturing the talents of students and showcasing Philippine traditions through chorale arts.

The Choir has amassed a repertoire ranging from a variety of acappella songs to extended works and it continues to explore the vast universe of choir music written for diverse but blending tones. It is also establishing its own identity with its own take in delivering renditions with excellence and charm. END
