10 November 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Doha organized a seminar/workshop on Gender and Development (GAD) and Organizational Development on October 30 at the Intercontinental Doha The City for the benefit and personal development of the Embassy personnel including the attached agencies such as the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Social Security System, and Pag-IBIG.
Ms. Luz Refe, Learning and Development Manager of Intercontinental Doha The City facilitated the activities of the seminar/workshop. Some of the topics discussed are different behavioral styles and how understanding emotions can help improve relationships and efficiency at work. The seminar also highlighted the importance of 3 V’s (visual, vocal and verbal) of communication in ensuring that there is effective communication at work.
Finally, she also expounded on leadership characteristics and championing change so that the organization is able to adapt with the changing needs of the workplace and the industry in general.
The participants actively took part in a series of group activities which focused on the mission/vision of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the general expectation of the Philippine foreign service corps in general as the face of the Philippines abroad. END
