10 November 2015 - The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Singapore and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) conducted the 2015 Safety and Security Awareness Workshop for overseas Filipino workers on November 08 at the NS Home Team along A Hood Road, Singapore. Since 2011, this annual event aims to educate newly-arrived overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and primarily household service workers on basic safety and security tips.

Officials of the Philippine Embassy and POLO, headed by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio Morales and Labor Attaché Ramon Tionloc, Jr., as well as representatives from the SPF, the Ministry for Manpower, Buildings and Construction Authority and National Environment Agency, spoke during the workshop. Around 250 people attended the event. Ambassador Morales thanked the organizers and stressed to the audience the vital importance of following regulations in Singapore. At the same time, he encouraged them to help the households where they are staying to be safe and secure and that staying alert is good practice applicable anywhere, even in a safe city like Singapore.
