JORDAN 1

23 November 2015 - An 18-man business delegation from the Philippines visited Amman, Jordan from November 07 to 10. This is the first such mission to the country by a Philippine business delegation in recent years. The visit, organized by the Bureau of Export Trade Promotion and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Dubai, in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Amman, is composed of companies from the food processing and the beauty and wellness sectors. 

Mr. Ghassan  Kherfan, Vice Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and one of the largest wholesalers in Jordan, said, "The meeting will be a good start for our trade relations and we hope for an increase of trade exchanges between Philippines and Jordan."  Ambassador Junever Mahilum-West stated that there is so much potential for investment and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

According to Dr. Maher Al Mahroud, Director-General of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, "In addition to the many incentives that Jordan has to offer, Jordan's strategic location makes it the right hub for business."

JORDAN 3

The Philippine Embassy in Amman organized a series of activities for the group such as the B2B meetings with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Chamber of Industry; market visit and meeting with Carrefour GM for Sourcing; meeting with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Jordan Investment Commission; plant visits to several companies in Amman, as well as visits to tourist spots such as the Baptism Site, the Dead Sea and Mt. Nebo. END
