25 November 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver joined a panel of fellow Ambassadors to speak on entrepreneurship and SMEs at a forum entitled “Entrepreneurship and Development: East Meets West,” held on November 16 at the Gulf Hotel in Manama, Bahrain.

The other presenters were Turkish Ambassador Hatun Demirer and Indonesian Ambassador Chilman Arisman. Ambassador Ver discussed entrepreneurship and MSMEs in the Philippine context and cited government programs, best practices and success stories of MSMEs. He highlighted that the issue of MSMEs was a key component of the 2015 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) agenda, specifically, “to intensify efforts to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) penetrate global value chains, access the global market through trade facilitation, e-commerce, financing, and institutional support and to provide opportunities for business and strengthen collaboration with public and private organizations that will support their development.” END
