27 November 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta hosted the Regional Seminar on Gender and Development (GAD) and Human Resources Management from October 26 to 30. The event was organized by the Office of Personnel and Administrative Services (OPAS) in cooperation with the Foreign Service Institute (FSI).
In his opening remarks, Philippine Consul General Roberto G. Manalo welcomed all participants and FSI trainees’ facilitators Ms. Marichu liwanag, Liezhel Joy Jamilano and Karla Mae Pebelina who delivered lectures on Gender Sensitivity.
Relevant laws on the Magna Carta of Women was discussed by Atty. Christiansen D. Cabahug of OPAS. Relevant laws on human trafficking were facilitated by Atty. Judy B. Razon of the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA). Proper counselling and effective interviewing techniques of Assistance-To-Nationals (ATN) cases were also discussed by Dir. Greg Marie C. Mariño of OPAS.
Human Resource Management issues were facilitated by Assistant Secretary Noel Servigon with Recent Rules in Administrative Cases in the Civil Service and amended Rules and Regulations on Administrative Sexual Harassment also highlighted. END
