This year the 7th Cross-Strait Modern Agricultural Fair &17th Cross-Strait Flower Expo will last three months with more than 1200 domestic and foreign enterprises participating in the event.
The event showcases over 1,200 kinds of agricultural and aquatic products including flowers and plants, tropical fishes and other products as well as agriculture-related equipment and implements.
Consul General Flores took the event as an opportunity to renew to the Zhangzhou government the Philippine government’s desire to strengthen its bilateral relations with Zhangzhou City through people-to-people contacts and exchanges involving the cultural and agricultural sectors. Zhangzhou Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (FOCAO) was requested to identify possible areas of cooperation in these fields, including future Philippine participation in the said event.
Zhangzhou City is considered as the biggest producer of agricultural products in China. It is also where the ancestral village, Hongjian, of the Cojuangco family is located. END
