03 December 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General participated in the 4th Guangdong International Charity Sale organized by the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) on November 28.
The event was co-organized by the Consulates General in Guangzhou, the Guangdong Youth Development Foundation, and the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government.
A total of 34 consulates participated with 60 booths spread throughout the north square of the mall.
As in the previous years, an auction of art and other luxury goods augmented the sales from the booths, while various performing groups provided by the consulates entertained the crowd.
Proceeds of the sales of goods generously donated by Shanghai Liwayway Corporation, Ltd., San Miguel Corporation, with contributions from the sale of other food products from Allied Food Enterprises Corporation helped raise the donations for the benefit of orphaned and impoverished children and out-of-school youth of Guangdong Province.
