03 December 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda once again attended the “Mayamang Kultura” event held on November 07 in Amsterdam.   the second consecutive year, Ms. Irene Esquibil-Looze organized the “Mayamang Kultura” which aims to promote Philippine culture in the Netherlands. 

In his remarks, Ambassador Ledda expressed his appreciation to the Ms. Esquibil-Looze, as well as to those who helped her organize the event. The Ambassador mentioned that the perseverance and determination of the people behind the “Mayamang Kultura” in getting the message across – all about Philippine culture – to the Netherlands is one that should be recognized and lauded.

Ambassador Ledda stated that the Philippine culture is rich in customs and traditions.  Philippine culture is a reflection of the complexity and vibrancy of the history of the Philippines through the combination of our very own with that of foreign influences.  He also talked about some events organized by the Philippine Embassy in The Hague to promote Philippine culture, talent and cuisine to the Dutch people. 

The main event of the “Mayamang Kultura” was the fashion show of traditional dresses of the Philippines designed by Ms. Esquibil-Looze. 

Visitors of “Mayamang Kultura” were given the opportunity to see and experience Philippine culture as fellow Filipinos performed folk dances, singing of Filipino songs and taste various Filipino dishes. END
