NYPCG partnership with Philippine Universities1

18 September 2013 – Philippine Consul General Mario De Leon, Jr. met with Seton Hall University President Dr. Gabriel Esteban and New Jersey City University (NJCU) President Dr. Sue Henderson in Seton Hall on August 28 to discuss the two universities’ existing and potential partnership with Philippine universities.

The meeting, initiated by Consul General De Leon and hosted by Dr. Esteban, focused on NJCU’s interest to collaborate with Philippine universities for nursing and business programs. Dr. Esteban shared with Dr. Henderson the positive experiences of Seton Hall in partnering with University of the Philippines Manila and De La Salle University for nursing program.

Dr. Henderson is planning to visit the Philippines before the end of the year to meet with university officials, learn more about their programs, and explore possibility of having an exchange of students and faculty members.  Consul General De Leon gave Dr. Henderson a list of top nursing schools in the Philippines that NJCU could start communicating with prior to her visit.

NJCU’s Dr. Joanne Bruno, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Sandra Bloomberg, Dean, College of Professional Studies, and Consul Zaldy Patron were also present at the meeting. END
