09 December 2015 - The Philippine Embassy and the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi held various activities in celebration of November as the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM). 

Banners showing this year’s theme, “Be RICEponsible in your OWN Way (BROWN) 4 Good” were displayed at the Embassy premises and in the three Philippine schools in Abu Dhabi.

The Panatang Makapalay was recited every flag raising ceremony for the whole month of November at the Philippine Embassy, The Philippine Global School (TPGS), Philippine Emirates Private School (PEPS), and The Philippine School (TPS) Abu Dhabi.  The schools also showed support by integrating the NRAM campaign into their Araling Panlipunan classes and school activities.

“Be RICEponsible” brochures were disseminated to the Filipino community through the support of the Bayanihan Council, the umbrella organization of all Filipino organizations accredited to the Embassy.

Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. called on everyone to do their share of RICEponsibility by valuing every grain of rice and by eating healthier rice.  “Let us be RICEponsible.  Let us be healthy,” he said.  END
