11 December 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Port Moresby conducted its last consular outreach mission for this year from December 04 to 07 when the Embassy consular team returned to Honiara, Solomon Islands to service the consular needs of the Filipino community in the Solomon Islands. The last consular outreach mission to Honiara was conducted on September 2013.
The Embassy’s consular team processed 55 passport applications, one Report of Marriage, and four applications for reactivation of overseas voters records. The consular team also entertained queries on consular matters, particularly the need to have employment contracts authenticated by the Embassy.
This is the fifth consular outreach mission undertaken by the Embassy in 2015. The four previous missions were in Lae, Morobe Province in May, in Port Moresby in June, Kokopo, East New Britain Province in July, and in Kimbe, West New Britain Province in October. A total of 127 passport applications were processed, five notarials were accepted, and several consular queries were addressed during these outreach missions.
The Embassy thanks the Filipino communities in the cities where consular outreach missions were conducted in 2015 for their cooperation and assistance. END
