During the meeting, Ambassador Rebong reiterated the Philippines’ commitment and support to the WHS process.

Mr. Gerard expressed appreciation for the Philippines’ continued support for the WHS process and active engagement in last October’s Global Consultation of the WHS. He also lauded the Philippines for its initiatives in preparedness and its multi-stakeholder approach to humanitarian action.

The first-ever WHS will be held in May 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey to discuss the future of humanitarian aid and the improvements needed in the humanitarian system, among others, in order to address the world’s humanitarian needs. END
