22 December 2015 - Pursuant to Republic Act 10398 providing for the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, the Philippine Embassy in Amman organized a Free Self-Defense Workshop for Women on December 11 at Pro Dojo Martial Arts Studio in Amman. 

Twenty (20) Filipinas participated in the two-hour basic self-defense workshop.  They learned simple and effective ways on how to defend themselves against harassment, attacks, and rape. Pro-Dojo professional mixed martial arts instructors, Ms. Irish Villanueva and Mr. Fadi Hananiah, shared various techniques and tips on self-defense.

The participants appreciated the Embassy’s initiative and were enthusiastic to improve their newly acquired skills by enrolling in various self-defense classes in Amman. END
