28 December 2015 – Philippine Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores visited Metrobank Quanzhou last November 26 and met the bank’s officials, led by Mr. Wu Jing, General Manager; Mr. Lewis Liu, Manager, Corporate Banking Department; Ms. Catherine Shi, Lending Administration Officer, Corporate Banking Department; and Mr. Nhesthy Ong, Relationship Manager, who is a Filipino expat.
The Consul General, along with the officers, visited Metrobank Quanzhou to network with its officials and discuss collaborative projects, including art exhibitions and seminars for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) situated in the Quanzhou area (such as Gender and Development-related events).
The main offices of Metrobank China are located in Nanjing, with branches in Changzhou, Shanghai and Quanzhou and a representative office in Beijing. It is the biggest Filipino-owned bank in China and currently the only Philippine bank authorized to conduct universal transactions all over China.
Metrobank’s owner, Mr. George Ty, is originally from Quanzhou City. END
