19 September 2013 - A 40-member delegation from the Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc. (PAFT), the umbrella organization of food science professionals in the Philippines, recently attended the biennial ASEAN Food Conference (AFC) which was hosted by Singapore this year from September 09 to 11 at the Singapore Expo.
The Philippine delegation participated in a variety of events during the Conference.
The most significant event was the second place finish in the Food Bowl Quiz – the best performance by any Philippine delegation to the AFC. The winning team comprised of undergraduate students from University of the Philippines (UP)-Los Baños and UP-Visayas.
The convention ended with a turnover ceremony by the Singapore organizers to PAFT as the next host of the 14th ASEAN Food Conference in 2015, to be held in Manila. END
