06 January 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, in collaboration with the Junior Chamber International – Philippines (San Pedro Portal Key Chapter), held a photo exhibit entitled “Remembering Operation Brotherhood” from December 28 to 29, 2015 at the Mercure Hotel, Vientiane.

The guests of honor during the opening ceremony of the exhibit on December 28 were Madame Khamphao Ernthavanh, Vice Minister of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Somock Kingsada, Vice Minister of the Lao Ministry of Health. A delegation from the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism (MICT) was also present, headed by MICT Deputy Director General Mr. Bounleuan Boupha. The Lao National Television was present to cover the event.

The photo exhibit was the culminating activity of the year-long celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Laos.

Philippine Ambassador Belinda M. Ante gave the welcome address during the opening ceremony and discussed how the Operation Brotherhood contributed to the present-day relations between the Philippines and Laos. Mr. Mark Rivera, Vice President of the JCI San Pedro Portal Key Chapter, gave a brief presentation on the history of the JCI as an organization and its participation in the Operation Brotherhood. END
