Four embassies with significant number of migrant workers in Jordan participated in the event, namely, the Embassies of Bangladesh, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. The event also affirmed Jordan government’s commitment to protect the rights of migrant workers and improve their welfare.
The event was also host to a mini-bazaar of the four participating embassies, which featured their respective traditional handicrafts, accessories, textiles and souvenirs. A cultural program was also held, which featured the talents, cultural dances and songs of Bangladesh, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. The Philippine Embassy showcased the singing talent of Filipinos through song numbers rendered by POLO-OWWA staff, Mr. Don Pardo and Ms. Rhona Fahigal. END
