15 January 2016 – In commemoration of the 119th Death Anniversary of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine Embassy in The Hague hosted a coffee morning for the officers and members of the Knights of Rizal – The Hague Chapter on December 30, 2015.
The commemoration program start with a flag-raising ceremony, followed by welcome remarks delivered by Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda and Sir Anton Lutter, Knights of Rizal - The Hague Chapter Commander.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ledda welcomed his fellow Knights of Rizal from The Hague and Belgium for attending the coffee morning to commemorate Rizal Day. Ambassador Ledda mentioned that the occasion serves as an inspiration for Filipinos to reflect on the sacrifices, works and commitment that Dr. Jose Rizal had given to the Philippines.
The occasion also marks the first official event of the Order of the Knights of Rizal – The Hague Chapter after its reestablishment on June 26, 2015. END
