17 January 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam commemorated the 119th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on December 30, 2015 at the Embassy.
The program started with a flag ceremony, which was followed by the wreath-laying rites, led by Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Meynardo LB. Montealegre, and attended by all officials and staff of the Embasy.
Ambassador Montealegre, in his message, talked about Rizal’s many talents and interests. He encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from Rizal and to emulate the National Hero’s penchant for learning and reading, which are a must in the Foreign Service.
The Embassy officials and staff had a simple breakfast in fellowship after the ceremony. END
