25 January 2016 - “I have promised my son I will be back for good after 10 years of working overseas, and I am keeping this promise. I am grateful to the Philippine Mission for helping me prepare for my return,” said Rosemarie Bragado, a returning OFW from the Mountain Province who has worked in Geneva for 10 years.
With plans of returning soon to her hometown, she attended the Financial Education 101 and enrolled in the 1st batch of the 4-weekend Entrepreneurial Development Workshop conducted by the PMG/PCG/POLO Geneva in November 2014.
The Workshop reinforced her knowledge of planning, saving and investing her income wisely, and allowed her to interact with fellow OFWs in Geneva in understanding the various social protection and national reintegration services available to them on their return.
“As part of its continuing effort to help overseas Filipino workers in Geneva and Vaud, the Philippine Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations/ Philippine Consulate General Geneva and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) - Geneva extends reintegration assistance to returning OFWs in preparation for their return to the Philippines,” said Ambassador Cecilia B. Rebong.
Before her departure, OFW Bragado received pre-return livelihood counseling and endorsements to the NRCO and OWWA for livelihood assistance/reintegration services from POLO Geneva. She is set to return to the Philippines before the end of January 2016. END
