GEN POLO

25 January 2016 - Beginning January 15, securing an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) is now made easier with the implementation of the online application of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s (POEA) Balik-Manggagawa (BM) Online Processing System in Geneva.

By harnessing the power of web-based technology, the Philippine government is bringing our front services to the convenience of our migrant workers,” Consul General Enrico T. Fos said.

This web-based facility enables the balik-manggagawa or vacationing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to apply online for the Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs).  The OEC serves as travel exit pass of OFWs at the Philippine airports.

OFWs in Switzerland who are balik-manggagawa are requested to personally register in the BM Online system either in the POEA, if they are in Manila, or at the Philippine Consulate General/Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO Geneva) office to enable them to create their record and access the system.

However, those vacationing OFWs that are rehired or returning to the same employer, and with existing records in the POEA website, are considered pre-registered with the online system and need not personally register on the BM Online system.

Once the registration process is completed, the OFW can personally secure, pay and print OECs in succeeding transactions, anytime and anywhere.

The OEC serves as travel exit pass at the Philippine airports for OFWs. Additional information may be obtained by calling the consulate and/or POLO office at 022 716 1930.
