28 January 2016 - The Middle East and Africa Network of Filipino Diaspora (MEANFiD) headed by Mr. Fidel Escurel, a Qatar-based engineer, in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Amman and Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar for overseas Filipinos in Jordan on January 2015 at the Embassy.

MEANFiD is a network of Filipino organizations in the Middle East. Part of its mission is to empower Filipino migrant workers to be financially independent. Around 70 Filipino workers who attended the seminar learned the basics of money management and the importance of doing financial planning towards practical approaches to wise spending, savings, and investing in order for them to reach their life’s goals and ambitions.

The seminar was part of the Gender and Development activities of the Philippine Embassy in Amman for 2016. END
