04 February 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Beirut attended the Search for Sally’s Shop Top Model 5th Batch held on the 31st of January at the Babel Theatre in Hamra, Beirut.
Vice Consul Grace Perpetua conveyed the felicitations and best wishes of Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz to the Sally’s Shop Top Model Group for organizing the fifth edition of its beauty pageant. She expressed the hope that the group will continue to support and collaborate with the Embassy to promote the Philippines and advance the interests and welfare of the Filipino community in Lebanon.
Vice Consul Perpetua also announced that the Overseas Voting for the Philippine National Elections will take place at the Embassy for 30 days, from April 09 up to May 09 including all Saturdays, Sundays and even holidays. The Embassy will also organize mobile voting in Hamra, Tripoli, Saida and Zahle and in other parts of Lebanon, the schedule of which will be posted in the Embassy's Facebook account and website. She exhorted all Filipinos present to disseminate this information to their Kababayans and to visit the COMELEC website in order to check the list of registered Filipino voters in Lebanon.
Finally, she informed them that the Philippine Independence Day Festival to celebrate the 118th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence will be held on June 12 and all Filipino community organizations are invited to participate and prepare for this event including during the General Rehearsals on June 05.
