09 February 2016 – The Philippine Consulate General, headed by Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla, warmly welcomed to Hong Kong the representatives of Department of Tourism, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Incorporated and members of Tribu Panayanon.
The Tribu Panayanon, composed of 47 talented students from Iloilo City National High School, winner of the Dinagyang Festival for three consecutive years, will represent the Philippines in this year’s International Chinese New Year Night Parade.
This is the second time that the Philippines has been invited by the Hong Kong government to perform in this most awaited and prestigious annual parade traditionally held on the evening of New Year’s day.
The group’s performances in Hong Kong are as follows:
- February 8, 2016 - Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
- February 9, 2016 - Lam Tsue, Tai Po
- February 10, 2016 - Lee Tung Avenue, Wanchai
True to the Filipino tradition of hospitality, the group was treated to a simple meal at the Consulate’s Public Area. END
