10 February 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, headed by Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre, held its bi-monthly forum with Filipino Community representatives, dubbed as “Kapihan sa Pasuguan,” at the Chancery on January 29.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Montealegre welcomed the attendees and thanked the Filipino Community representatives for their continued support to the Embassy’s programs and activities.

Among the topics discussed was the Filipino Community’s participation in the 32nd Brunei National Day Celebration on February 23. As in previous years, it was agreed that the Filipino Community will be represented by a contingent composed of representatives from the Filipino Community organizations. The logistical requirements for the event were also discussed.

The Kapihan, launched on September 25, 2015, is regularly held to provide Filipinos in Brunei Darussalam with relevant information concerning the activities and projects of the Embassy and other matters affecting their welfare. END
